Who has impressed you most with what they’ve accomplished?
Oh, there are so many! But if I have to choose one it would be Kathrine Switzer, the first woman who participated in the Boston Marathon as an official registered competitor. During her run, race official Jock Semple repeatedly assaulted Kathrine, trying to grab her bib number and stop her from competing. After knocking down Kathrine’s trainer and fellow runner Arnie Briggs when he tried to protect her, Semple was shoved to the ground by Switzer’s boyfriend, Thomas Miller, who was running with her, and she completed the race. This was in 1967, and what specifically impresses me is Kathrine’s bravery and determination, as well as her fellow runners protecting her throughout the race. Teamwork at its best!

What hobby would you get into if time and money weren’t an issue?
Philanthropy for sure, with a mix of business angel. There are so many exciting players within the life science and health sectors who are in need of both financial support and expertise.

What are some small things that make your day better?
Laughter! I’m a sucker for practical jokes. A typical Gothenburg joke always works, which means I’m obviously easy to amuse!
